As a Line Crew Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the line crews engaged in the installation, upkeep, and repair of both underground and overhead electric distribution systems. Your role will include managing equipment, materials, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise line crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electric distribution systems.
- Manage equipment and materials, ensuring proper record-keeping, including the completion of time sheets and tailboard documentation.
- Provide training and mentorship to line workers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Assess crew performance and initiate necessary training or corrective actions to meet performance standards.
- Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, demotions, and disciplinary measures through appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate and schedule work assignments effectively.
- Conduct safety meetings and inspections of trucks and trailers.
- Ensure timely completion of work, adhering to schedules and budget constraints.
- Respond to emergency trouble calls outside of regular hours, ensuring adequate staffing during high call volumes.
- Accept standby duty responsibilities throughout the year, being available via communication devices.
- Collaborate with emergency services to maintain a safe working environment.
- Enforce environmental policies and procedures on job sites.
- Make informed decisions based on thorough analysis of operational methods.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with team members, superiors, and external vendors.
- Analyze and improve operational procedures as necessary.
- Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Perform the duties of a Line-worker I as needed.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and practical application.
- Comprehensive knowledge of company line work practices and policies.
- Ability to become certified as a rubber gloving technician for 34.5 kV.
- Must meet the weight limit of 300 pounds for this position.
- Reside within a reasonable distance from the Area Work Center.
- Possess mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions while working at heights.
- Must meet standby coverage requirements.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant education, training, and experience equivalent to a Line-worker I.
- At least three years of experience as a Line-worker I; supervisory experience is preferred.
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program, with an annual salary range starting at $60.07, plus incentives based on experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (Class A with Special Trailer Endorsement) and a clean driving record is required.
Working Conditions:
Availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel as necessary. Overtime may be required.
