Responsibilities
Key Duties
Under direct supervision, the Receptionist is tasked with a variety of administrative support functions related to the patient intake process and performs routine responsibilities within the clinic.
Essential duties for this healthcare position include:
- Facilitating patient check-in during visits and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed for an efficient admitting process, adhering to clinic and regulatory standards.
- Managing incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinating appointment scheduling in accordance with office protocols.
- Collecting accurate patient and insurance details, including copayments and deductible amounts.
- Scanning and copying patient access-related documents (e.g., identification, referrals, insurance cards) into the designated sections of the electronic medical record.
- Preparing patient charts for appointments, ensuring all required information is present.
- Conducting all activities related to patient check-out, including pricing services, collecting payments, and scheduling follow-up visits.
- Assisting with the filing and retrieval of records and registration documentation in electronic medical records.
- Confirming next-day appointments and informing patients about necessary documentation, including time-of-service payment details.
- Following up with patients regarding missed appointments and sending appropriate communications.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
+ Familiarity with insurance authorization and billing processes is essential. Strong customer service and communication abilities are necessary. Organizational and time management skills are crucial. Proficient computer skills are required. Understanding of clinic procedures and regulatory standards is important. A strong work ethic and professionalism are expected. The ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is vital.

Compensation
$15 - $20.33 per hour
