The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Blood Collection Staff. As a Blood Collection Staff member, you will play a vital role in helping us collect lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals across the country.

About the Role

We offer a competitive starting rate of $21.50 per hour, with opportunities for growth and development within our organization. Our team members work collaboratively to transport and set up equipment at collection sites, create a welcoming environment for donors, and ensure the safe collection of blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong relationships with donors, understanding their stories and the impact of their donations.
  • Work effectively with your team to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for repeat donors.
  • Maintain attention to detail, ensuring collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
  • May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy weights, good manual dexterity, and ability to sit or stand for long periods.
