Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonograms and assisting physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures using appropriate transducers and scanning sequences to produce accurate images.
  2. Assess physician's orders for completeness and ensure correct examinations are performed.
  3. Establish testing schedules and prioritize requests to ensure critically ill patients receive timely treatment.
  4. Perform and document quarterly quality assurance tests on equipment to maintain integrity and meet TJC standards.
  5. Participate in invasive radiological procedures by assisting radiologists and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic services.
  6. Maintain ultrasound equipment in good working order, clean and disinfect after each use, and report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns.
  7. Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting patient needs, including those with special requirements.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, set up images in PACS, and accurately input data in the RIS system.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff, and coworkers, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Work effectively as a team member, provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, and maintain understanding of policies, procedures, and clinical competency processes.
Requirements
  • Registered or registry eligible with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • CPR certification may be required
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure
  • Individual exceptions may apply under the discretion of the Medical and Administrative Director
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved ultrasound program
  • At least one year's experience as an ultrasound technologist
  • Associates or Applied Science Degree in a related field
Working Conditions

May involve physical lifting and/or walking. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. May be required to rotate on night, weekend, and/or holiday call schedule. May be required to cover ancillary offices as needed.
