Job Summary:

The University of Miami-UHealth System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 1 to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.
  • Support clinical functions within the Department of Surgery, including assisting with patient-related clinical questions and concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and mid-level providers to address and resolve medical concerns.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to non-clinical teams within the Department of Surgery.
  • Build relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff to streamline intra and interdepartmental processes.
  • Coordinate care across multiple departments, agencies, and organizations.
  • Complete medical-related forms, such as FMLA's and DWC-25 forms.
  • Discuss clinical information with insurance companies to obtain necessary approvals for surgery/treatment.
  • Contact outside providers/hospitals to secure medical records.
  • Document all patient-related encounters appropriately in our electronic medical records.
  • Function as a professional role model for behavior and make a positive impact on peer morale.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • No previous experience required.
