Histotechnician

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team in the Histology Department at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all aspects of routine histology, including specimen and slide preparation, frozen sections, and special staining. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent manual and visual coordination, and the ability to work in a team environment.

• Perform routine histology testing in accordance with departmental QC/QA guidelines.
• Use the AP computer system to generate histology records and maintain accurate records.
• Perform maintenance on histology instrumentation and ensure compliance with departmental and manufacturer's guidelines.
• Handle client-related questions and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Comply with all company, department, and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Assist with data entry, preparation, and grossing of specimens.
• Continuously develop professional skills through personal study, seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.

• HT (ASCP) registry or Associates Degree in Health/Science related field and HT (ASCP) registry or eligible.
• Experience preferred.
• Medical terminology, keyboarding, and PC skills helpful.

• Excellent manual and visual coordination.
• Possible exposure to chemical and biological hazards.
• Sound reasoning and judgment skills.
• Positive interactions with internal and external clients.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
