Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain buildings and facilities, including floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces.
- Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
- Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs, including minor or major repairs to building operating systems.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, and management.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks assigned.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Utilize ladders, dust, and wash furniture, walls, blinds, and select equipment; clean ceilings and dust light fixtures and ceiling vents.
- Remove stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Prepare cleaning solutions per specifications.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
- Gather trash and empty in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Drive vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- Provide special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
- May require a valid driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, and wrist movement.
- Due to the nature of the job, the candidate should be able to lift 30 pounds with assistance.
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
- Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color-coded cleaning microfiber cloths and mops.
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish)
