Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Birmingham City Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of preschool students
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and implement innovative approaches to teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the grade level and subject area assigned
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in early childhood education
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a classroom setting, with minimal travel to required professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to sit, stand, bend, and lift minimal amounts.
