The Manufacturing Specialist I in the Sanitation Department is a full-time, entry-level role responsible for various cleaning and sanitation tasks. This position ensures compliance with food safety regulations and environmental standards. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and be committed to teamwork, effective communication, and a solid understanding of sanitation principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to sanitation protocols and ensure all cleaning documentation meets regulatory standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and communal areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to clean and sanitize equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning.
  • Work in warm and humid conditions.
  • Safely handle and apply cleaning and sanitizing agents.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures diligently.
  • Keep sanitation tools and equipment organized and clean.
  • Support food safety initiatives by reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by assisting in risk assessment and accident prevention.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Perform basic arithmetic for tasks such as measuring and following cleaning protocols.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods, typically four hours or more.
  • Engage in repetitive motions including bending, reaching, and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Adapt to varying warm and humid conditions due to equipment operation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least one year of experience in cleaning or food manufacturing is preferred but not required.
