The Role

We seek an exceptional Master Sommelier & Beverage Visionary to lead our beverage program: selecting and maintaining the wine list, hiring and guiding sommeliers, and ensuring financial health.

  • Cultivate a culture of outstanding hospitality for all stakeholders that supports business objectives and growth.
  • Partner with management to lead service staff in delivering unparalleled hospitality for every guest.
  • Identify opportunities for Beverage to foster dialogue between guests and businesses.
  • Guide teams in discovering ways to meet guest needs while upholding USHG operations.
  • Bolster excellent standards of service, communication, and education within the team.
  • Drive cover counts and introduce new guests to our brand, encouraging repeat visits.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting clear communication between service and kitchen teams.
  • Educate the Service Team on beverages, adding quality and value while enhancing the guest experience and achieving financial goals.
  • Maintain accurate end-of-period reports, inventories, and forecasts.
  • Execute beverage changes effectively, considering communication and education.
  • Ensure POS systems, inventory systems, and other information related to selling beverages are understood by the team and remain accurate.
  • Maintain relationships with fellow beverage managers and directors across USHG, sharing best practices and learning from colleagues.
  • Exercise sound judgment to secure the best products at advantageous prices.

Your Profile

We require:

  • At least 3 years of restaurant beverage management experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, including high-level CMS/WSET or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of beverage inventory and cost management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of restaurant service team roles.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
