Hospitality and Tourism Management Lecturer

We are seeking a highly qualified part-time lecturer to teach undergraduate-level courses in hospitality and tourism management at San Jose State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and tourism, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

• Teach undergraduate-level courses in hospitality and tourism management, including courses related to hospitality, tourism, and event management.
• Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of students.
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the development of the hospitality and tourism program.
• Use the Canvas Learning Management System to organize and deliver course materials.
• Meet the needs of a diverse student population, including students from different cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities.

• A master's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of professional experience in hospitality and tourism.
• Experience in teaching and developing curriculum in hospitality and tourism management.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and to address the needs of a multicultural population.

• Professional experience in hospitality and tourism management, including experience in teaching and developing curriculum.

L-A / Range 2 - $5007 - $5675L-B /Range 3 - $5925 - $7125
L-C / Range 4 - $6500 - $8982
L-D / Range 5 - $8184 - $9854

The work for this faculty position is located in the State of California and requires commuting to the campus. Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association. These provisions state the order in which available courses must be assigned to faculty, starting with tenure line faculty and ending with new lecturer appointees.
