Position Summary

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Litigation Associate to become a vital part of Teksky's growing Labor and Employment division, taking on significant responsibilities in legal proceedings on behalf of both private and public sector employers. The ideal candidate will possess 4-7 years of relevant experience in employment litigation, with a keen interest in trial or arbitration work. Key areas of expertise should include:

  • Handling claims related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
  • Managing FLSA and wage and hour disputes, including class and collective action lawsuits
  • Conducting thorough legal research and drafting essential legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and memoranda
  • Taking and defending depositions, as well as overseeing discovery processes
  • Preparing EEOC position statements and DFEH responses, along with conducting witness interviews

Furthermore, the successful candidate will have experience advising employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including:

  • COVID-related regulations and guidelines
  • ADA/FEHA compliance and disability accommodations
  • FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other employee leave regulations

Experience in labor relations is also beneficial, encompassing:

  • Labor negotiations and grievance handling
  • Arbitration processes
  • Compliance with MMBA, as well as PERB/NLRB litigation and administrative hearings

Qualified applicants must demonstrate excellent academic credentials, superior analytical, research, and writing capabilities, alongside a strong work ethic and commitment to exceptional client service. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of California employment law, exhibit the ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative, client-oriented environment, and show enthusiasm for expanding a practice with like-minded professionals.
