Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Medical Assisting Instructor to join our team at Putnam County Schools, WV. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive instructional program of study in Medical Assisting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive instructional program of study in Medical Assisting, aligned with state and county standards.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning, utilizing instructional management systems models to increase student academic achievement.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives, communicating effectively with parents and the educational community.
  • Professional Responsibilities: Meet professional responsibilities associated with the position, including implementing state and county policies and procedures, and maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment in safe, operational order, and sponsor CTSO activities appropriate to the specialization.
  • Student Placement and Job Training: Assist in placement and co-operative job training for students, promoting and/or assisting in promoting the program through dissemination of information and recruitment activities.
  • Reporting and Communication: Complete and submit all reports in a timely manner, as required by law, the West Virginia Department of Education, and/or county Board of Education, and communicate to parents/guardians the progress and/or deficiencies of students.
Qualifications
  • Holds or qualifies for a Vocational Permit/Certificate endorsed for medical assistanting, or is willing to acquire one within the first year of employment.
  • Holds a valid West Virginia NRCMA.
Working Conditions

The Medical Assisting Instructor will work in a school setting, with a 210-day contract.
