Position Summary:

This role encompasses the daily management of retail activities, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess robust project management abilities, retail experience, and a commitment to fostering memorable interactions for both guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Conduct bi-monthly inventory assessments for operational supplies and retail products, placing orders as necessary.
  • Sales Analysis: Review retail sales data and prepare monthly reports for the leadership team.
  • Merchandising Collaboration: Work alongside retail curation consultants to enhance store presentation.
  • Event Support: Collaborate with the Experience Curator, Marketing, and Operations teams to execute retail pop-up events.
  • Product Storytelling: Develop engaging narratives around retail offerings, the history of Mattei's Tavern, and the Santa Ynez Valley.
  • Networking: Build relationships with local vendors and partners to enrich the brand's story through unique experiences.
  • Customer Engagement: Drive sales by actively engaging customers, utilizing suggestive selling techniques, and sharing product knowledge.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training initiatives and facilitate experiences that inspire the team, ensuring all staff can confidently engage with guests.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance guest experiences based on feedback and strategic insights.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality and security of sensitive resort information.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for guest interaction and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including operating systems and responding to guest inquiries.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various departments.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Composure under pressure and clear communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in high-quality guest service, ideally within the hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering personalized services, including event coordination and retail management.
  • Proficiency in Gmail and GSuite.
  • Experience with Property Management Systems.

Compensation: $22.66/hour
