Overview:
The Security Asset Management Specialist is tasked with safeguarding all assets of United Family Services Inc. while ensuring a secure working atmosphere for our employees and a safe shopping experience for our customers.
This role encompasses responsibilities such as deterring and apprehending shoplifters, overseeing adherence to internal compliance standards, and executing additional assigned tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensuring a secure working environment for our employees.
Maintaining a safe shopping experience for our customers.
Actively monitoring surveillance systems for theft, fraud, or organized retail crime activities.
Apprehending suspected shoplifters in accordance with company protocols.
Deterring shoplifting incidents when safe apprehensions are not feasible.
Engaging in corporate initiatives aimed at reducing shrinkage.
Documenting incidents related to theft, both internal and external, and submitting requests for video evidence.
Issuing fraud alerts to inform nearby locations of suspected theft or fraud activities.
Executing other responsibilities as directed by the Asset Protection Officer Manager.
Essential Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred background as a commissioned law enforcement officer, though not mandatory.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Capability to de-escalate tense situations verbally.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and make informed decisions.
Physical capability to fulfill all job-related tasks, including but not limited to bending, standing, lifting, squatting, climbing, walking, sitting for extended periods, and occasionally running.
Willingness to accept supervisory feedback regarding performance, work habits, and attitude.Ability to learn and utilize various software applications and electronic tools.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
