This position requires an attorney with extensive experience in providing counsel to closely held enterprises and affluent individuals and families on intricate estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, business succession frameworks, philanthropic endeavors, and associated income tax considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a substantial portable book of business.
  • Offer guidance to high-net-worth clients, families, and entrepreneurial ventures on tax-efficient ownership frameworks.
  • Facilitate succession planning for family-owned businesses and demonstrate knowledge of multi-generational wealth transfer methodologies.
  • Establish family entities to assist in managing and controlling family investments.
  • Support executors in estate administration, including the preparation of estate tax filings, post-mortem planning for surviving family members, probate management, and conducting family discussions regarding estate processes.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential. This attorney will act as a trusted advisor, assisting clients with a comprehensive range of financial, business, and tax-related issues throughout their lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will exhibit the confidence and capability to engage with the Firm's existing clientele while also demonstrating the ambition and skill to cultivate new client relationships and business opportunities.

Leadership Qualities:

This role demands an attorney with the potential and aspiration to assume a leadership position within the Wealth Transfer Group and the Firm.

A background in accounting, business, or finance is advantageous, with CPA, CFP, and/or LL.M. in taxation being highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure in Illinois or another state with a UBE score qualifying for Illinois comity.
  • Eligibility to waive in or willingness to take the Illinois bar exam.
