Position Overview:
Compensation for this role begins at $17.60 per hour.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Cardiac Monitoring Specialist is responsible for connecting patients to electrocardiograph devices and/or cardiac monitors to capture electrocardiograms utilized by medical professionals in the assessment and management of cardiovascular conditions. This role involves explaining procedures to patients, attaching electrode leads, observing patients and recordings during assessments, and archiving results for cardiologist review. The specialist must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver patient care that is suitable for the age groups of the patients served.

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Experience:
Completion of EKG training is required upon hiring.

Additional Skills/Knowledge:
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Associate's Degree

Experience:
Prior experience in EKG or direct patient care

Other Requirements/Information:
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with other members of the Patient Care Team, both in person and through electronic means, typically acquired through high school education.
Analytical skills are necessary to prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Completion and passing of EKG training, along with passing EKG competency assessments every 12 months.
