Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director to lead our nursing services team. As a key member of our healthcare leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor programs and practices for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care for patients and their families.
  • Ensure consistent application of nursing services policies and standards throughout the organization.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
  • Oversee performance of teams; identify and address staff training and development needs.
  • Apprise medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.
Standards of PerformanceStandard I: Financial Management
  • Recognize the impact of reimbursement on revenue.
  • Understand the relationship between values-based purchasing and quality outcomes with revenue and reimbursement.
  • Create, monitor, and analyze a budget; explain variance.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of productivity, forecasting future revenue and expenses.
  • Document capital appropriations and project authorizations.
Standard II. Human Resources Management
  • Evaluate and specify the critical resources required to accomplish the team's objectives.
  • Initiate requests for required resources based on staff competency with patient acuity.
  • Allocate team resources responsibly and equitably within the scope of labor laws.
  • Calculate resource usage to set a baseline for comparison.
  • Discover opportunities to improve resource utilization.
  • Implement changes in role consistent with scope of practice.
  • Anticipate and plan for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
  • Resolve conflicts in a wide variety of situations, such as workload allocation, schedule overlap, etc.
  • Adjust management and personal style to fit the needs of different people and different situations.
  • Explore motivational factors and tailor motivational efforts to individual needs and situations for the department.
  • Conduct evaluations on personnel performance at the work place and recommend improvement plans.
  • Coach others on operating personnel management systems and their processes.

  • Guide others in making correct decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas.
  • Design or revise organizational practices and procedures to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Support and coach on mechanisms that encourage attention to compliance issues; all clinical activities.
  • Participate in translating policy changes into operational programs and services.
Healthcare Regulatory Environment
  • Implement programs as needed to comply with diverse healthcare laws or regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance of all healthcare practices to ensure no violations.
  • Evaluate key aspects of pending healthcare regulations and legislation that may impact company.
  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to existing and potential legal problems.
  • Share main considerations and issues related to laws and regulations in the implementation of healthcare practices.
RequirementsA. Education/Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree.
B. Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare leadership.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • RN License in state of employment or compact.
  • BLS.
