Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons in a variety of surgeries or procedures, demonstrating a keen understanding of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field, including sterile tables, tools, and patient draping, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Select and prepare necessary supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure, ensuring timely and accurate setup.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet the needs of surgeons during procedures, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Perform general clerical tasks, such as updating patient records and preparing documentation, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment, adhering to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or quality control issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the highest level of professionalism in all interactions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1 year of recent relevant experience in a surgical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
This is a per diem/casual position, with variable hours and shifts. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
