Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Direct Support Professional to provide support and instruction in activities necessary to promote independence and self-determination for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in our residential setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals served, recognizing their unique needs and preferred learning styles.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation and personal care.
  • Administer medications as needed, adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and accompany individuals to medical appointments and document all pertinent information.
  • Engage in effective communication with individuals and report incidents or emergencies as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly home environment while following safety and infection control procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1 year of care experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and ability to work overtime as needed.
