Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Civil Structural Engineer to conduct structural field investigations and analyze failures involving various structural and construction-related problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural field investigations and analyze failures involving various structural and construction-related problems
  • Determine the origin and cause, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures
  • Analyze failures in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying engineering principles and practices
  • Assignments may include foundation settlement investigations, structural assessments, site evaluations, sub-surface investigations, and vibration analysis
  • Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
  • Responsible for retention and development of client relations
  • Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships, and promote self to client groups
  • Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree highly preferred in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of post-academic civil/structural engineer experience
  • P.E. registration
  • S.E. registration required within six months of commencing employment
  • Must possess strong writing skills
  • Public speaking experience a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
