Areté is in search of a motivated Program Manager to oversee one of the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) within the Maritime Airborne Sector (MAS). The selected candidate will be responsible for managing program performance by collaborating with IPT Leads to effectively oversee and communicate business status, including schedule performance. The role involves automating and enhancing reporting processes through modern tools and refining performance metrics.

The Program Manager will coordinate with IPT Leadership throughout all program phases, from initiation to completion, which includes proposal development, cost estimation, statement of work creation, negotiations, resource allocation, and compliance with contract deliverables. The candidate will engage in customer meetings and present data and information as required by IPT Leadership, focusing on cost, schedule, and status updates. Additionally, the candidate will support new business initiatives in alignment with the sector's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program scope, staffing, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and deliverables for both internally and externally funded initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key sector members to facilitate business operations and enhance workflow.
  • Develop and implement business tools and metrics as directed by Sector Leadership.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for efficiency improvements to Sector Leadership.
  • Manage initiatives as specified by Sector Leadership.
  • Coordinate business capture processes for specific opportunities, including proposal team formation, proposal development, program costing, and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in MAS business capture planning, including pipeline reviews and opportunity assessments.
  • Collaborate with various levels within the MAS Sector and Areté Corporate teams, including management, engineering, finance, and administration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in program management related to Department of Defense (DoD) funded programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the proposal writing process and cost estimation within the DoD context.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical experience with DoD programs, including reporting requirements and technical reviews.
  • Experience in financial modeling for program performance evaluation, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Experience with Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense, particularly the U.S. Navy.
  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos.
