Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wound care needs and develop personalized treatment plans
- Provide wound care services, including debridement, incision and drainage, and biopsies as indicated
- Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions
- Interpret diagnostic test results and recommend appropriate follow-up care
- Prescribe medications, equipment, and supplies to facilitate wound healing and prevention
- Conduct support groups and health promotional activities to educate patients and their families on wound care and related topics
- Master's degree in Science of Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies or related field
- Minimum 3 years of advanced practice provider experience
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License or Physician Assistant License in the State of Texas
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification or Physician Assistant Certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
This role operates in a patient's home medical office setting, requiring travel by automobile and exposure to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards, and chemical hazards.
Equipment UsedThis role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, keyboard, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and medical equipment such as blood pressure cuff, thermometer, stethoscope, etc.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, twist, stoop, and kneel. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
