The Assistant Director of Nursing at Northbrook Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care services. This role requires a strong nursing background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and other departments to achieve facility goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Participate in internal audits of nursing practices and develop plans of correction when deficits are identified. Ensure all facets of the nursing budget are within established parameters.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Maintain Nursing Department staffing at a level congruent with patient needs, budgeted positions, and employee requests. Schedule Nursing Department staffing levels to support individual and group activities for patients.
- Staff Development and Education: Participate in orientation sessions for nursing service personnel. Evaluate performance for all levels of nursing service personnel. Assist the DON in maintaining the provision of in-service/staff development programs to meet nursing objectives and policies.
- Infection Control and Safety: Ensure that all Nursing Department staff members are educated and utilize infection control practices that protect employees, patients, and families. Investigate all nursing department employee accidents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Must be currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
- Must have strong leadership skills and be able to lead a team of nursing staff, as well as help foster a team atmosphere with the nursing division.
- Liaisons with residents, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for resident needs.
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the facility.
