Job Title: Dentist

Community Health Center of the North Country is seeking a skilled Dentist to join our team in Canton, NY.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dentist to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. As a Dentist at our health center, you will be responsible for conducting examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases of the teeth, jaw, and mouth, and providing preventive care to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough examinations and provide treatment to patients referred to the health center.
  • Discuss treatment plans with patients, families, and/or guardians.
  • Implement procedures for assuring prophylactic antibiotic coverage for patients requiring such before dental treatment.
  • Direct the duties of dental assistants and maintain accurate records of prescriptions.
  • Make referrals when necessary and participate in group conferences where expertise is required.
  • Provide educational programs for patients and staff, and ensure all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Consult with the Dental Director on equipment needs and ensure infection control policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and trainings to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.
Requirements:
  • Current New York State license in Dentistry.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of eClinical Works preferred.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and/or guardians.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with patient issues.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
  • Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen.
  • Ability to tolerate extensive use of computer keyboard.
