As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room, you will be essential in delivering empathetic and professional nursing care to patients in need.
About the Facility:
Our organization is recognized as the leading acute care medical center in the region, providing a wide array of diagnostic and surgical specialty services, including but not limited to cardiac, oncology, and stroke treatment. Our advanced facilities encompass the Pavilion and the Critical Care Center, which feature a state-of-the-art Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and surgical suites. We are also a teaching institution associated with the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine, emphasizing our commitment to excellence in both education and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to promote patient comfort and recovery.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Administer medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs to facilitate optimal recovery.
- Maintain comprehensive records regarding patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress.
- Engage as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and execution of patient care.
- Guide and assist in implementing safe aseptic techniques and procedures.
- Provide leadership and direction to support staff within the department.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: One year of nursing experience.
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ACLS certification required upon hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain ACLS by the end of their clinical orientation.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- TNCC certification required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS certification required upon hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain PALS by the end of their clinical orientation.
Compensation:
Salary is based on experience, starting at $46.40 per hour.
Work Schedule:
- Full Time
- Day Shift (7 AM - 7 PM)
- Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
