Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Record a patient's medical history accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
  • Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and potential side effects of medications.
  • Monitor patients' condition, including fluid intake and output, and maintain accurate patient charts.
  • Assist patients with daily activities, such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications, and provide basic medical care tasks.
  • Collect samples for lab testing as assigned and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Communicate with patients' family members or friends to provide advice, comfort, and instructions.

  • Current LPN license and registration.

  • Original Social Security Card, Non-expired State Identification, and Proof of Citizenship/Immigration.
  • Sigma Care experience and long-term care experience a plus.
