Job Summary:As an EMT Student with Acadian Ambulance Service, you will provide high-quality pre-hospital care and transportation to patients in need. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering efficient and timely care, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all individuals involved.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct Patient Assessments: Carefully examine patients to identify signs and symptoms of illness or injury, and assist medical personnel as needed.
- Administer Basic Life Support: Provide prompt and efficient care within the limits of licensure or certification, and in accordance with approved protocols.
- Transport Patients Safely: Ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients in the ambulance, while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Document Patient Care: Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including condition and treatment, on EMS run reports.
- Maintain Equipment and Vehicles: Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all necessary equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate professionally and effectively with employees, managers, and patients, while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Current EMT Course Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an EMT course.
- High School Diploma or GED: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR Certification: Must hold current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
- Strong Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively.
- Maintain Social Norms: Maintain social, ethical, and organizational norms in all interactions.
- Achieve Task Details: Achieve accomplishment of all task details, no matter how small.
- Develop a Sense of Ownership: Maintain good personal motivation and develop a sense of ownership of job tasks and results.
