Position Overview

This role offers multiple openings for the NavMPS Customer Support Representative - Ship Rider. The selected candidates will be deployed aboard U.S. Naval vessels for extended durations, including necessary work-up cycles and operational deployment periods. Travel to assist various Naval Air Stations and Marine Corps Air Stations is also a requirement for these positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between PMA-281 and Fleet NavMPS users as an integrated member of the Carrier Airwing Staff.
  • Deliver advanced training in NavMPS-specific Administration and Database Management for all NavMPS users, aiding aircrew in mission planning utilizing NavMPS applications.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all NavMPS users to ensure swift responses to problem-solving, training needs, and routine operations.
  • Provide cross-platform training and mentorship to less experienced colleagues and team members from related programs outside the mission planning framework.
  • Install and configure NavMPS software on all relevant NavMPS assets.
  • Implement, integrate, test, and secure site-specific software applications as authorized by PMA-281, while managing system administrator and user accounts for all relevant NavMPS assets.
  • Offer technical guidance, subject matter expertise, and recommendations to government clients to assist in defining and prioritizing requirements, designing system upgrades, and procuring hardware and software solutions.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for installation, testing, service transition, operational continuity, disaster recovery, and other standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with enterprise network, web, database, and information assurance engineers for all installation, testing, integration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Monitor, manage, document, and report on system security status in compliance with DoD and local information assurance policies.
  • Prepare, pre-configure, and test deployable equipment packages for remote operation, training users and support staff on system setup and operation, and provide remote assistance to deployed personnel.
  • Adhere to configuration management and change control policies to support CM and QA practices.
  • Stay updated on relevant and emerging technologies as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education / Certifications:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:
  • Military experience in an IT-related role may substitute for an Associate's degree.
  • Four years of experience supporting Defense IT systems may replace the educational requirement.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of experience with DOD C4ISR systems, including 24/7 help desk support, training, and on-site technical assistance for deployed naval vessels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Other Qualifications:
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and maneuvering 100 lbs.
  • DOD certification is mandatory.
