About the Job

We are seeking a Property and Casualty Insurance Professional to join our team at Novatae Risk Group. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing applications, renewals, and endorsement requests from agents, making decisions on risk acceptability within granted limits of authority, and processing submissions according to internal guidelines and turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to routine inquiries from agents regarding quotes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and other inquiries.
  • Review applications, renewals, and endorsement requests; gather necessary information and make decisions regarding risk acceptability within granted limits of authority.
  • Process submissions by applying internal guidelines and meeting required turnaround times.
  • Compile, sort, and verify information received for completeness.
  • Apply the appropriate operating procedures for each task as well as department guidelines and expectation.
  • Monitor submission status and follow-up on outstanding documents.
  • Rate and issue renewal quotes.
Requirements
  • Property & Casualty license is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous P&C wholesale insurance experience or Carrier.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office and agency management software.
  • Knowledge of commercial lines insurance coverage, products, markets, rating, and underwriting procedures is essential.
  • Skilled in developing excellent inter-personal and client relations; producing effective, accurate verbal and written communication, and active listening with strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, applying knowledge and experience to achieve outstanding results.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and help develop new processes and procedures to help the agency become more efficient.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
