Job Summary

Revvity is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientist I to join our Custom Synthetic Manufacturing laboratory team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing primary tasks in an ISO 9001:2015 laboratory, including custom synthesis, cleaving, quality and quantity determination of product for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Custom Oligonucleotide Synthesis: Manufacture custom oligonucleotides for our customers using established protocols.
  • Equipment Operations: Accurately and effectively complete basic equipment tasks, including reagent filling, synthesizer set-up and operation of several different synthesis platforms, synthesizer maintenance, laboratory clean-up, and planning based on priorities.
  • Quality Control Testing: Conduct quality control testing using HPLC, LCMS, UV-VIS spectroscopy, and as needed for determining synthesizer success and failure rate.
  • Data Review and Communication: Review analytical data to determine quality of oligonucleotides and communicate results to Supervisor.
  • Workload Prioritization: Prioritize workload to meet customer need and new product launches.
  • Cross-Training: Cross-train to ensure the capability to complete primary tasks in each of the Custom Manufacturing laboratories.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory for custom amidites and modifications and work closely with Chemistry team to determine needs and usage.
  • Lab Maintenance: Maintain proper lab maintenance and upkeep per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and 5S standards.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training of new and current employees and provide guidance for error prevention.
  • Compliance: Comply with all EH&S regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a life sciences discipline.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expanded Laboratory Knowledge: Expanded understanding with laboratory standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Oligonucleotide Chemistry: Knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistries, modifications and methodologies.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn, troubleshoot, and operate specialized laboratory equipment, computers, and instrumentation software.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent interpersonal skills with the talent for teamwork.
