About the Role

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in facilitating communication between patients, families, providers, and other care team members. As a liaison, the MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by collecting and reviewing clinical data, ensuring that relevant information is available to the provider. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures as directed by the provider and in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Patient Care
    • Respond to patient and family inquiries
    • Monitor and respond to incoming requests and notifications
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information
  • Collect and Record Patient Data
    • Interview patients to obtain medical history
    • Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results
  • Perform Routine Screening Tests
    • Measure height and weight
    • Check blood pressure
  • Support Business Operations
    • Confirm patient appointments
    • Verify patient insurance information
    • Coordinate patient check-in and virtual visits
    • Maintain computer and electronic system competency
  • Monitor Patient Adherence
    • Regularly check-in with patients to assess adherence to care plans
  • Collaborate with Facility Staff
    • Maintain a friendly, cooperative, and collaborative relationship with facility staff
