Job Title: Clinical Trials Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Trials Research Assistant to join our team at Vitreoretinal Surgery PLLC. As a Clinical Trials Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the conduct of clinical trials in our retina clinic.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule subject visits within study-specific windows per protocol guidelines.
  • Prepare visit-specific documentation and charts for Clinical Research Coordinator.
  • Observe and assist Clinical Research Coordinator in patient care and management.
  • Assist in monitoring subject flow and subject care and management.
  • Collect and record all necessary data for follow-up study visits.
  • Transcribe subject study information from source documents to Electronic Case Report Forms.
  • Administer mandatory questionnaires to study subjects.
  • Set up, prepare subject, and conduct electrocardiograms (ECG) on subjects as required per study protocol.
  • Promptly request all necessary medical records for Serious Adverse Event Reporting.
  • Process and ship laboratory biological samples for analysis.
  • Perform intraocular pressure checks after injections.
  • Perform trial frame refraction and ETDRS visual acuity testing.
  • Inform subjects and obtain written re-consents in regard to ICFs.
Requirements:
  • Applicants must be personally motivated to provide excellent patient care.
  • 1+ years of clinical trials research assistant experience in a retina or general ophthalmology environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent team player who works cooperatively and respectfully with all doctors, supervisors, and co-workers.
  • Desire to perpetually learn and grow.
  • Efficient and highly accurate user of applicable information technology and health care management systems.
  • High School Degree or GED.
