Your Role
Shuttlewagon, a subsidiary of Wabtec, is seeking a dedicated Mobile Equipment Maintenance Specialist to execute maintenance and repairs on Shuttlewagon equipment as well as other brands of Mobile Railcar Movers as required. You will collaborate with a skilled and experienced team at our Kansas City headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of Mobile Railcar Movers, including Shuttlewagon models.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs as assigned, contributing to reduced downtime and enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Support Production and Quality teams as necessary, fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely delivery of products.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Technical trade or vocational education (preferred).
  • Associate degree in automotive or diesel technology (highly regarded).
  • Experience in heavy-duty diesel mechanics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical principles and testing methods.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic math skills and a keen attention to detail focused on quality.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience with lifting devices, forklifts, and various hand tools.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to company safety policies.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Uphold company standards of ethics and trust.
Typical Work Schedule
Your work week will generally run from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Daily tasks will include:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Conducting planned maintenance and repairs.
  • Loading and unloading equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Operating hand tools and equipment safely.
  • Ordering necessary parts for maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspecting for leaks and ensuring proper fittings.
  • Testing hydraulic and pneumatic pressures.
  • Performing quality standard testing procedures.
  • Wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participating in safety briefings and addressing safety concerns.
Physical Demands
This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. You will need to sit, stand, and walk unassisted, utilizing your hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment. Good communication skills are essential, along with normal correctable vision.
