Phlebotomy Specialist

The Clinical Research Services (CRS) of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is seeking a skilled Hospital Assistant III to support the delivery of care to patients at the CRS Clinical Research Unit. As a key member of the team, you will assist in the performance of patient care and laboratory procedures, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of care to patients, including phlebotomy, vital signs, and other clinical procedures.
- Perform laboratory procedures, such as sample processing and testing, in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, laboratory results, and other relevant data.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Nursing Staff and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and efficient laboratory operations.
- Follow research protocols and maintain all necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience with laboratory information management systems and database management.
- Prior experience with APeX (EPIC electronic medical record system) and Freezerworks Laboratory Information Management System.
- Good Clinical Practices and CITI training.
- Prior clinical research experience and knowledge of research protocols.
