We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Saputo. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Production Oversight: Work closely with plant management and supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor the work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant.
- Quality Control: Ensure that proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.
- Product Inspection: Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments to machines.
- Scheduling and Estimation: Coordinate production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of production run assignments.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete all assigned paperwork, including production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports, and investigations.
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Employee Supervision: Provide supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. Support employee progressive disciplinary action activities in partnership with Human Resources.
- Safety Promotion: Promote safety programs and policies to reduce the number of safety incidents and near-misses.
- Training and Development: Train and instruct employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes.
- Experience: One to three years of supervisory experience in a food packaging environment preferred.
- Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Skills in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail. Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
