Job Summary

Mon Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in our psychiatric and general medical settings. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients of all ages.

Essential Duties:
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including history and physical examinations, to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to establish realistic treatment goals and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
  • Implement appropriate healthcare interventions, including medication management, as needed, and document patient progress in a timely manner.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their physical and emotional needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop strategies for improving patient outcomes.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in psychiatric and general medical care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Nursing with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree or Graduate of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
  • Current West Virginia APRN licensure or Physician Assistant licensure, with prescriptive authority.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Language Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing patient care and safety.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • Current West Virginia APRN licensure or Physician Assistant licensure, with prescriptive authority.
  • Psychiatric Nurse Board Certification or NCCAP.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment, prioritizing patient care and safety.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.

Incumbent will be expected to have the ability to respond to rapidly escalating patient situations, and adapt to the many varied resultant physical posturing by a patient in crisis as recommended in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
