Job Title: ABA Instructor

Join the University of Pennsylvania as an ABA Instructor in the Early Childhood Program. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering direct naturalistic behavioral instruction to preschool children with developmental delays.

Job Summary

The ABA Instructor position is responsible for implementing the clinical intervention (NDBI services) for children with developmental delays and working on individualized goals as outlined in the Individual Treatment Plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct naturalistic behavioral instruction within play-based activities as written in the treatment plan in a group or individual setting with preschool children.
  • Implement positive behavior support plans as written and participate in treatment planning.
  • Act as part of the preschool planning team that evaluates progress of pilot preschool initiative.
  • Develop program lessons, activities, and materials to be used for daily activities with feedback from supervisor.
  • Attend supervision, departmental staff meetings, and participate in regularly scheduled staff training.
  • Collect multiple measures of observational data for children attending the therapeutic preschool program and maintain program data sheets and materials.
  • Communicate directly with families to provide caregiver training and information on local resources.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Instructors for the Early Childhood Program shall meet one of the following:

  • Have a certification as a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst.
  • Have a certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.
  • Have a certification as a Board Certified Autism Technician.
  • Have a behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
  • Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing ABA services and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
