As a key member of the Wesco team, you will play a crucial role in replenishing inventory through data analysis and the effective use of business systems. Your primary responsibility will be to make informed buying decisions, ensuring that products are purchased at the lowest costs. You will also be responsible for expediting product status with suppliers and communicating exceptions with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine the optimal quantities and items to purchase, and create purchasing documents to send to suppliers.
  • Assist in the execution of stock replenishment, special order (SO), and drop ship (DS) buying, making decisions based on the most economical method with respect to quantities, order minimums, prepaid terms, and mode of transportation.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order status and delivery, and communicate delivery information to impacted departments.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in Business or a related field is required; a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • One year of purchasing experience within a supply chain environment is preferred.
  • One year of knowledge of the industry, including suppliers, customers, and competitors, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
