Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and resourceful Software Development Engineer (SDE-II) to join our Selection & Catalog Systems team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in crafting cutting-edge solutions that fuel the expansion of our extensive product catalog and enable seamless product discovery for customers globally.

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems and microservices architectures. You will work on high-impact initiatives that directly shape the shopping experience for Amazon customers worldwide. Your expertise will be invaluable in crafting innovative solutions that address complex technical challenges and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

1. Spearheading the development of a groundbreaking validation framework and service designed to proactively detect and prevent data quality issues across our vast product catalog.

2. Building sophisticated algorithms integrating with AI/ML science models to perform deterministic and probabilistic validation at scale.

3. Creating innovative, low-latency, and high-performance probabilistic validation solutions to achieve high correctness across textual, numeric, and image attributes.

4. Developing an Insights framework that harnesses the power of service logs and metrics to continuously expand and refine our validation guardrails.

5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop E2E solutions for product data validation and surface actionable feedback to sellers.

Requirements:

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.

Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.

2+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems and microservices architectures.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

Ability to collaborate effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
