Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team at Holston Medical Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and services in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide Athletic Training Services: Provide athletic training coverage for practices and games, as well as injury assessment and rehabilitation on a daily basis in a college athletic setting.
  • Communicate with Healthcare Professionals: Communicate with medical and allied health professionals regarding patients' progress, needs, return to activities, and discharge planning.
  • Provide Patient Education: Provide learner-appropriate instruction in injury prevention, and injury management for the patient to use independently. Adapt conventional techniques to meet the needs of patients.
  • Apply and Educate Patients in Durable Medical Equipment: Applying and educating patients in durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Assist in Patient Triage: Assist in patient triage in a clinical setting.
  • Maintain Proper Documentation: Maintain proper documentation on all patients and services performed.
  • Develop Outreach Programs: Facilitate the development of outreach programs and services to meet the needs of the community within budget constraints.
  • Attend Athletic Events: Attend area athletic events at the college/university level, local schools, and community as needed.
  • Perform Athletic Testing Protocols: Perform athletic testing protocols.
  • Maintain Training Areas: Maintain training areas, assuring the proper supplies and equipment are available, organized and neatly kept.
  • Comply with Legal Requirements: Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Build Quality Relationships: Build quality relationships with patients, physicians/providers, and co-workers.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate with a BS/MS of an accredited Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.
  • Experience: 0-3 years clinical experience.
  • Licensure: Must be licensed in the State of Tennessee and CPR certified.
  • Clinical Skills: Must possess clinical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
