Job Title: Thermal Modeling Engineer

At Antora Energy, we're on a mission to revolutionize the way industries operate by harnessing the power of thermal energy. As a Thermal Modeling Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions that help us achieve our goal of a zero-emissions future.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled Thermal Modeling Engineer to join our Heat-to-Power R&D team. In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting thermal and mechanical analyses, including CFD, CHT, and FEA. You'll work closely with our mechanical design and test engineers to establish thermal and system requirements, inform component selection, and help make the right tradeoffs for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thermal and mechanical analyses, including CFD, CHT, and FEA.
  • Develop robust heat transfer models to quantify performance of novel heat-engine and combined heat and power product for various geometries.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design and test engineers to establish thermal and system requirements.
  • Support the development and execution of test plans at both bench and full scale, to validate models.
  • Define and maintain thermal requirements for components and systems.
  • Contribute to cost and performance roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain internal design practices and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in thermal engineering, with 3+ years of that with focus on CFD and thermal FEA modeling.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, CFD, transport phenomena, and thermodynamics fundamentals.
  • Experience working collaboratively in teams that built first-of-a-kind hardware systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and closely in teams, as required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
  • High level of proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), preferably SolidWorks.
  • Expert-level proficiency in thermal modeling packages, preferably Ansys.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, or equivalent.
  • Experience with modeling systems with combined heat-transfer modes (conduction, convection, radiation).
  • Experience with modeling of equipment for high-temperature (> 500 C) environments.
  • Willingness to stretch into different roles in the team as needed, including mechanical design, material evaluation, prototyping and testing.
What We Offer:

At Antora Energy, we offer a competitive salary range of $133,000 USD - $173,000 USD for Senior and $154,000 USD - $201,000 USD for Staff. We also provide a premium health benefits package with life and disability insurance, a 401K plan, a flexible spending account, industry leading paid time off policy, providing a flexible and inclusive holiday observance, as well as paid volunteer time off.
