Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer at Dart Container, you will play a key role in driving our success in safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be responsible for helping us meet our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Your project management skills will be essential in coordinating new equipment initiatives with a talented team of engineers and technicians.
You will troubleshoot and implement innovative engineering solutions, design cutting-edge automated production equipment, and create vital electrical schematics and control systems. Additionally, you will support equipment installations, perform power requirement calculations, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that elevate our operations.
In this role, you will also train production staff on best practices, collaborate across departments to gather insights, and lead continuous improvement plans that enhance efficiency and safety. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and technicians to drive innovation and make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot motion control systems, including variable frequency drives and servo control
- Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot electrical control systems such as PLC, relay logic, and control networks, production equipment automation, and industrial controls networks
- Use and program controls software
- Use HMI and Ladder Logic
- Experience with 5S procedures
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
- Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
