Job Summary:

Mercy Hospital is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Gig Nursing Program. As a Gig Nurse, you will have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including day and night, with the opportunity to earn a variable shift incentive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work flexible hours, including day and night shifts
  • Participate in the Gig Nursing Program, which requires scheduling a minimum number of hours and being available on short notice
  • Be subject to last-minute shift cancellation
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a practical nursing program
  • Current LPN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
  • One year of recent bed-side LPN experience, preferably in Med Surg
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

Physical Demands:

  • Stand/Walk most of the time on duty
  • Significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance
  • Push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
