We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Registrar to join our team at UF Health. As a Cancer Registrar, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer data in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements and the Florida Cancer Data system.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract and code clinical data using the standards set forth by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and the Florida Cancer Data System.
- Perform monthly case finding and maintain follow-up information on all living and deceased patients as required.
- Assist with Tumor Board activities and ensure that appropriate staging is done on all applicable positive pathology reports.
- Assist with the submission of cancer data to required agencies and maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information in the tumor registry database.
- Perform other cancer registry activities as needed, such as consolidation of treatment information and yearly case ascertainment.
- High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in a health-related field preferred.
- 2-years Cancer/Tumor Registry experience required.
- Experience with Electronic Registry System preferred.
- Knowledge of Commission on Cancer (CoC) cancer program standards for accreditation preferred.
- CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) Certification Required.
- Florida Abstractor Code - Required within 60 days.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
- Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT) preferred.
