Job Summary and Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
- Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care independently.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Exhibit effective communication, confidence, and professionalism through active participation in unit and organizational activities.
- Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource for the patient care team.
- Take responsibility for delivering high-quality nursing services and promoting a positive image of the nursing profession.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree nursing program.
- A minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (those with RN Compact License must obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire).
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
This position requires full vaccination for COVID-19 in accordance with local, state, and/or federal regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is granted).
Nephrology Unit Highlights:
- 32-bed capacity.
- Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, utilizing team nursing with LVNs and experienced PCT support, along with a dedicated Charge Nurse.
- Deliver advanced nursing care for patients with acute and chronic kidney failure requiring inpatient hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, along with other comorbidities such as CHF, DM, PNA, and podiatry care.
- Staff members are engaged and satisfied, contributing to effective patient throughput and low turnover rates.
- Strong support for new residents and LVNs.
- Collaborative team environment with exceptional nurse leadership support.
