Position Overview:
As a Lead Software Architect, you will take charge of the design and development of our advertising technology systems. Your role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders from both business and technical backgrounds to ensure the success of our ad-serving software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build a high-performing architecture team.
- Establish and communicate the fundamental architecture principles applicable to all engineering efforts within the Ads platforms.
- Create comprehensive technical blueprints for application architecture, API interfaces, microservices, backend data processing, and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with your team to architect new features and components, balancing top-down directives with bottom-up input.
- Critically analyze and provide constructive feedback on architectural designs proposed by peers.
- Continuously assess the current architecture against ideal states, identifying gaps and re-architecting components to enhance growth, performance, and scalability.
- Research and evaluate leading technologies to guide architecture decisions, including build-vs-buy analyses.
- Maintain current architecture documentation, detailing components, data, and their interdependencies.
- Offer consultancy and support to engineering teams during component development and evaluation.
- Guide non-engineering teams, such as product and governance, on component behaviors and data characteristics.
- Participate in internal training sessions to enhance knowledge of existing components and architecture best practices.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of overall experience, with at least 10 years in roles such as Principal Architect, CTO, or similar.
- Prior experience as a software engineer for at least 3 years, proficient in two or more programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, Rust, or C/C++.
- Strong foundational knowledge in computer science, including hardware, operating systems, software, data structures, and networking.
- Proven experience in leading teams, nurturing talent, and fostering a collaborative environment while effectively communicating technical visions.
- Experience in designing and implementing architecture for large-scale global products.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical details to diverse audiences; proficiency in French is a plus.
- Comfortable presenting ideas and achieving consensus through various methods, including written documentation and presentations.
- Hands-on experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern SDLC tools.
- A track record of continuous improvement and a proactive approach to enhancing processes.
- Able to prioritize tasks and resolve issues promptly with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
