Diesel Fleet Mechanic Job Overview at US Foods, Inc.

The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of diesel equipment used in our fleet. This includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and other associated components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with heavy-duty diesel equipment and a strong understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair diesel engines and associated components
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and filter replacements
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues
  • Collaborate with other mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience working with heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Certifications such as CDL A and DOT preferred but not required
