Job Title: Middle School Practical Arts/FACS

Marshall Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary:

This is a nine-month position responsible for teaching, instructing, guiding, and directing all pupils assigned to their classes in the teaching and learning process. The ideal candidate will plan learning activities to assist pupils in gaining knowledge, developing skills, and attaining educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach District-approved curriculum and plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
  • Work cooperatively with administration and staff throughout the district.
  • Observe all policies, rules, and regulations of the Board of Education as stated in the Policy Handbook.
  • Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
  • Be available for consultation with students, parents, and other personnel before and after regular school hours.
  • Provide suitable lesson plans and arrangements for substitute teachers in case of teacher absence.
  • Maintain accurate records for student reporting (grades, attendance, IEP, etc.).
  • Monitor/consult with school health nurse regarding health-related issues reflecting student achievement.
  • Be a member and participant in the activities of professional organizations vital to the development of professional excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Teaching Certification in specified area by the State of Missouri
  • Preferably having computer skills in Google(docs, sheets, and slides), Word Processing, Gmail, Basic Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Publishing, SIS Attendance, SIS Grades, SIS Homework, SIS Parent Contact Log.
Evaluation and Terms of Employment:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. This is a nine-month employee. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
