Software Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our team in Odenton, MD. As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software products by designing and executing tests, analyzing results, and identifying areas for improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Review software requirements and develop test scenarios to ensure thorough testing
  • Execute tests on software usability, analyzing results for database impacts, errors, or bugs
  • Prepare reports on software testing activities and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with clients to understand product requirements and provide input on design and development
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product design, and potential problems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Substitute 4 additional years of experience without a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as MS Office 2013 and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision
  • Robust understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Good understanding of agile software development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of Secure Agile Framework methodology
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite of tools, including JIRA and Confluence
  • Knowledge of KM Platforms, including SharePoint and MS Teams
  • Background in DoD testing policy, including DoD Instruction Software Acquisition Pathway
